Set up your brokerage (brokers)

Brokers - your USDOT and MC number on Freigent, your MC on rate confirmations, and what happens to loads and rate confirmations you have sent.

For brokers setting up Freigent. Three rules apply to every brokerage account.

Your USDOT and MC number belong to one Freigent company

Each USDOT number and each MC number can be on only one Freigent company. Freigent compares them by their digits, so "MC# 991234" and "991234" are the same number, and it saves your MC as digits only.

If the number is already on another Freigent account, Freigent does not save it and says: "That USDOT or MC number is already on another Freigent account... write to [email protected] and we will sort it out." If the number is yours, write to [email protected].

Your MC on rate confirmations

Add your MC with Add your MC in the rate confirmation section of Setup. Freigent does not send rate confirmations for you today (that is in testing); when it does and your MC is not on file, the rate con prints "MC not on file" where your MC goes (on Freigent's own rate con and on your uploaded template, if it has an MC box), and Freigent warns you before you send. See Send a rate confirmation to a carrier.

Loads and sent rate confirmations stay on the record

  • A load can be deleted only while it has no carrier and no rate confirmation.
  • A rate confirmation Freigent recorded on a load is kept as the record: it cannot be removed or relabeled.
